China

China evokes remote mountainous landscapes and a rich cultural heritage. Walk impressively restored and wild, crumbling sections of the Great Wall, lose yourself in Beijing's Forbidden City, then wander alleys where locals spill from steaming street-food stalls. Sample the baozi and jianbing. China is not to be missed.

India

Prepare for sensory overload. From culinary delights and striking landscapes to ancient traditions and celebrated festivals, India is rich in colour, life and diversity. Marvel at the Taj Mahal, get colourful at Holi or celebrate the lights of Diwali, then search the country's vast wilderness for tigers.

"The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only one page."

Laos

Laos is a land of untamed natural beauty, known for its mountainous terrain, hillside tribes and Buddhist monasteries. Traversed by the Mekong, it has an abundance of waterfalls and fishing villages, serene lush-green landscapes contrasted with French colonial architecture and impressive temple complexes.

Mongolia

Landlocked between Russia and China, Mongolia is largely a plateau, but its scenery sweeps from upland steppes and deserts to mountain ranges and forests. Its history runs back to the 3rd Century BCE and, most famously, to Genghis Khan. The drama of that history and landscape makes for extraordinary adventure and culture.

Myanmar

Once secluded, Myanmar has reopened its doors and is fast becoming one of Southeast Asia's most sought-after destinations. Dive into Yangon's bustle, explore gilded temples, float on serene Inle Lake, and be blown away by Bagan, the ‘Angkor Wat of Myanmar’, where over 2,200 temples sit beneath hot-air balloons at dawn.

Nepal

Landlocked Nepal is an adventure-lover's dream. The Himalayas soar above ancient cities and hill villages, drawing trekkers from across the globe. As the birthplace of Buddha, Nepal keeps deep spiritual roots: meet Hindu Sadhus in saffron robes and Buddhist monks, and feast on fragrant curries and momo. A must for its food, mountains and people.
